Augustina Kapoti

Conductor

Ms Kapoti has been an inspiration. She performs with grace, intensity and a wonderful amount of concentration. She is keen on assimilating ideas, inspecting information and weaving into her own interpretation. Augustina is always a positive force in interpreting the most taxing and demanding orchestral literature as well as the more classical works.

Testimonial

Augustina Kapoti is that rare talent who combines action and reflection in perfect balance. A deeply thoughtful musician who studies and prepares scores in the greatest detail, she is also an inspirational figure on the podium who breaths extraordinary life into all the compositions she touches. She is simultaneously rock solid and lighter than air, and one can tell that the musicians she works with recognize this special talent. Her knowledge of various repertoires is vast, and she is always eager to learn new compositions and approaches. To be able to cultivate objective distance even while one is in the throes of engaged passion is the mark of a great musician and this is certainly true of Augustina Kapoti.
I have also been deeply impressed by the variety of ensembles and musicians she engages with, from amateur groups to the most professional. And in all of these she brings her signature combination of enthusiasm, planning, skill and power. She is a force to be reckoned with and is a conductor with a marvelous future.
